The Friends of The Maine Seabird Islands Mural in Progress

Kim was awarded a wonderful relief tile mural by the Friends of Maine Seabird Islands. Her portion of the mural (3-4' high by 9'-0)is a biologically accurate depiction of Maine's subtidal zones which will merge into a painting by national wildlife artist, Mark McCullough capturing the seabird island's habitat.

 The mural will be part of a permanent exhibit installed in the Maine Coastal islands National Wildlife Refuge visitor's center located in Rockland Maine. The installation and dedication will take place in the summer of 2014.


Pond Series-Shower Installation

 Kim and Piper are in the installation phase of this project. Presently, the shower tiles shown are 9x4 white and celery glazed hand pressed subway tiles. The decorative pieces shown are 9x4 handpressed rainbow trout tiles with a simple 1x6 inch wave tile beneath. The two decorative pieces work together to add movement and a sudtle splash of color.

   In the next stage of the installation, the shower design will transform from the water elements into land. The design will incorporates smaller 2x2, field tiles and decoratives with turtles and a border of lilypads above. Transitioning into land Flying above the lilypads, small 2x2 bees and dragonflies decorative tiles inserted into 2x2 field tile.

Additional images shown display tiles which will be installed in the upper portion of the shower. All current projects will be presented in the Portfollio when the project is complete.
